Should congress apologize to Mark Zuckerberg?

If you haven’t been living under a rock recently, major tech company CEOs have been hauled into Congress to discuss child safety and moderation on their platforms.

What does it mean?

Is Congress right to really drill down on these CEOs?

What else could Congress be doing to really change the current climate to protect our kids while also protecting democracy and free speech?

To debate the hottest topic in tech this week is Emil Michael, Chris Saad and Yaniv Bernstein.

Together the insiders discuss:

⚖️The balance between regulation and platform benefits

👀Excessive oversight

🛡️🔍Accountability of tech companies for harmful content amplified by algorithms and the role of regulation in addressing these issues

Using Your Budget As A Weapon

Why One-Off Integration Partnerships Suck

One-off integration partnerships suck

They need to be a key part of your current strategy or don't do them.

That means don't just accept an integration just because it lands in your lap. You need to be ready to

1. Build a real API product (not easy)
2. Maintain the API over time (even harder)
3. Turn it into an entire business/department of your company with a full program of support, including...

a) A target customer (E.g., Distribution partners)
b) An internal owner (E.g., A sales leader)
c) Sales enablement (E.g., Deck, website, etc)
d) Sales motions (E.g., Pipelines, calls, contracts, sales!)

Otherwise, it just turns into a distracting one-off special project that just creates an expensive integration and maintenance distraction.

Worse, the one-off opportunistic deal almost never turns out as fruitful as you initially imagined.
